2024 ALERT Law Enforcement Grants Program Now Open

To support our member law enforcement agencies’ efforts in risk management, the Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation has established the 2024 ALERT Law Enforcement Grants program.

There is a total of $30,000 of grant monies available in the program.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the 2024 Law Enforcement Grants, grantees must:

  • Hold an active County Mutual General Liability insurance policy at the time of entry;
  • Meet the definition of a “law enforcement agency” as outlined in Wis. Stat. 165;
  • Complete and submit the “2024 A.L.E.R.T. Law Enforcement Grants Application.”

Grant Applicability
Law enforcement agencies are welcome to apply for Challenge Grants monies towards:

  • Training
  • Equipment/Technology/PPE (NO firearms or non/less-lethal alternatives [i.e. Tasers])
  • Community awareness campaigns
  • Mental health and wellness
  • Other innovative ideas/programs

Grant Application
All prospective grantees must complete the “2024 ALERT Law Enforcement Grants Application.”

It is suggested that prospective grantees provide supplemental information as attachments to the application that will benefit the reviewers’ understanding of your request. Completed applications must be signed by the person completing the form AND the Chief, or Commanding Officer.

An insured agency may only submit one application.

Completed applications should be completed and submitted at this link by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024.

Grant Awards
Following a thorough review, grants will be awarded by the County Mutual and CIC’s Loss Prevention/Workers’ Compensation Advisory Committee. The County Mutual cannot guarantee the award of the full amount for which you are requesting. Grant winners will be notified following the committee’s November meeting.
